The Full Story
Trevor Ryan

Owner. Comedian. Veteran. Guy who somehow ended up running a comedy club in a basement.
Trevor Ryan was born in Australia and raised... kind of everywhere. He spent part of his childhood on the border of Mexico, eventually growing up in Dallas, Texas. Even as a kid, he had a flair for the dramatic—putting on skits, acting in anything with a stage, and always craving that sweet, sweet spotlight.

After 9/11, Trevor joined the U.S. Air Force—partly to serve, partly to grow, and partly because civilian life didn’t seem quite difficult enough. He ended up with a squad of comically tall subordinates (a cruel joke for someone under six feet), a voice that still projects like a drill sergeant, and just enough hearing loss to blame for everything.

His post-military life was a grab bag of strange careers: vet tech, retail general manager, Sunglass Hut overlord, headstone hustler, and radio ad guy. But through it all, the stage kept calling.
He finally answered in 2019 with a painfully awkward open mic at Ellsworth AFB—and he’s been hooked ever since.
Trevor has performed all over the Black Hills, building a comedy scene where there wasn’t one. His stand-up style is storytelling meets chaos, with plenty of crowdwork and a voice that says “I’ve seen some stuff.”
His proudest achievement? Opening West River Comedy—South Dakota’s only dedicated comedy club.
He lives for the moment when he’s sitting in the green room, hearing a room full of strangers lose it laughing. That sound? That’s why he does it.
Oh, and fun fact: he can only write in cursive in Russian. (Yes, really.)
