Our Story
Rapid City’s home for stand-up, smartasses, and suds.
Welcome to West River Comedy Club! We are South Dakota’s only dedicated comedy club, proudly planted in the heart of downtown Rapid City. We’re tucked just below street level, where the ceilings are low, the laughs are loud, and the punchlines echo longer than they probably should.
Built by a Comic, Not a Corporation
The club was founded in 2025 by Air Force veteran and stand-up comic Trevor Ryan. After years of producing pop-up shows and trying to grow a comedy scene from scratch, he finally said, “If no one else is gonna do it, I will.” So he built the thing.
And now? We’ve got a real stage. Real lights. Real drinks. And really funny people.
What We Do
West River Comedy features a rotating lineup of national headliners, rising regional stars, and brave locals willing to bomb in public. Our events include:

We seat over 100, serve beer and wine, and stay open Wednesday through Sunday nights. We’ve got shows for everyone (unless you hate laughter, in which case...this probably isn’t your place).

Because people here deserve a place to laugh. Simple as that. Whether you’re out with friends, on a date, celebrating something, or just trying to forget your work week, we’ve got you.
